Ask any chef what they eat after a busy day in the kitchen and the answer will be the same. Comfort food, or in other words junk food, guilty pleasures, easy on the mind food.
Late tables of Next Door can find Ric at 11.30pm behind the pass into a bucket of chicken wings with beer in hand. On a special occasion he may be halfway through a door stop bacon butty consisting of our house cured belly bacon and fermented tomato ketchup. There have been occasions when lucky diners have gone home with a goodie bag of said bacon.
Although seemingly simple, there is always something a bit special and particularly delicious about these off menu classics. We all joke he has a magic touch with food in every form, even with his children’s salad cream sandwiches.

We’re so excited to announce our final event of 2024 our New Years Eve Tasting Evening
Starting at 7pm with a sparkling reception at your tables followed by a 7 course tasting menu with optional wine pairing to accompany each course shortly after.
Our menu is comprised of the best of the season’s ingredients for a night of exceptional indulgent dining and the menu will be served at a relaxed pace so you can unwind and take time to savour the food and drinks.
Your table is yours for the evening with the final course being served in time for our diners to choose to celebrate midnight Next Door or to see where the night leads...
For the first time we’ll be introducing chefs playlist from 11pm onwards, Richard will take over the speakers with some of his favourite songs, expect northern soul, blues and some modern classics too.
Last orders for the evening will be 12:45am.

Join us for a six-course tasting menu, celebrating the best of December’s seasonal ingredients, with optional wine pairings to enhance each dish. Bookings are available from 12 PM to 1:30 PM.
We’ll serve each course at a relaxed pace, allowing you to unwind and savour the food and drinks. As always your table will be yours for the afternoon.
