In the intimate setting of Frodsham's old butcher's shop,
Next Door is the product of a marriage between a chef & sommelier.

 
 

RICHARD

Richard started his career in the gruelling kitchen of what was then London’s Petrus (now Marcus Wareing at the Berkley) he then moved on to The Savoy, this baptism of fire into the world of fine dining should have put him off for life – but had quite the opposite effect. Over 15 years his love for food, culture and cooking has taken him to kitchens far and wide, from France to the tropical isles of the Caribbean and then full circle back home again, he has been privileged to learn from some world class chefs. This restaurant has been a dream in the making along the way, one that has been shared since meeting Vicki 9 years ago.

VICKI

With a baker for a mother and butcher for a father there is no escaping her family’s heritage in food. She is yet to attempt candle stick making, instead over 10 years has pursued a career in both hospitality, food and wine retail. Taking up her first Restaurant Manager role at just 20 years old. She crossed over to learn about the wines of the world at merchant Define, then joined Michael Caines Restaurant group as a sommelier. She has since travelled with her husband before returning home to her family business. Vicki and Richard share a love for all things delicious – especially the produce from their home county.

 
 

The setting for this restaurant adjoins Richard and Vicki’s home, for them it is quite literally next door. Their diners are their neighbours and are invited to enjoy what they love most.

The building is a 17th century timber frame cottage that once housed Vicki’s great grandfather’s, grandfather’s and then father’s butchers shop. H E Coward, still thriving today, is now just a few doors down.
